Now, the same riddle in English...
Special Note: If you succeed in solving this one, well and good; but in case, you don't, just leave a comment, and I will mail the answer to you...

The crown-prince of Ashanagri goes to a forest on hunting, and one fine day, a three-headed, three-tailed monster halts his way...
Now, he has to fight the monster to move ahead, or even to come back...
The crown-prince has a magical sword that can, in one stroke, chop off either one head, two heads, one tail, or two tails...
On the other hand, the monster has a boon; that is, if one head is chopped off, a new head grows; if one tail is chopped off, two new tails grow; if two tails are chopped off, one new head grows; if two heads are chopped off, nothing grows...
And yes, he can not be killed until all the heads and tails are chopped off...
Now, you guys tell me, what is the smallest number of strokes required to chop off all the heads and all the tails of the monster, thus killing it...?

ReplyDeletewaise ye bhi ho sakta hai :
ReplyDelete4 strokes:
1) Cut 2 heads - 1 head and 3 tails remain
2) Cut 2 tails - 2 heads and 1 tail remains
3) Cut 2 heads - 1 tail remain
4) Cut 1 tail - Dragon dies at the cut so no chance of tail growing back..
Aapka jawaab bilkul sahi hai, Prakash Bhai...
ReplyDeleteAur aapke doosre jawaab ke liye sirf itna hi keh sakta hoon - Ha Ha Ha... Paheli ki waat lagaana koi aapse seekhe, Prakash Bhai...
cut 2 head - 1 head and 3 tail remain
ReplyDeletecut 1 tail 1 head and 4 tail remain
cut 2 tail - 2 head and 2 tail
cut 2 tail - 3 heads only
cut 2 head - 1 head remain
cut 1 head - 2 head
then cut 2 heads and finish
means 7 bar me wo mara jayega
Monu, doosre waar mein jab aap ek poonchh kaatenge, tab do poonchh ug jaayengi, isliye aapka jawaab sahi nahin hai... Ek baar phir hisaab lagaakar dekhiye... :-)
