(Nishtha's pocket money, and advance...)

Now, the same riddle in English...

Special Note: If you succeed in solving this one, well and good; but in case, you don't, just leave a comment, and I will mail the answer to you...

My daughter Nishtha requested me to give a hundred rupees as advance from her pocket money of the next month...

I said, "I will give you the money, and won't even ask them back next month, if you tell me, how can I give you exact hundred rupees in ten currency notes of any denomination, except Rupees 10..."

Nishtha confirmed, "Rupees 100 out of any ten currency notes that aren't a tenner...?"

"Yes," I said, and lo, to my surprise, in a few seconds, she told me the answer and I had to give Rupees 100 to her...

Now, can you guys tell me about the answer Nishtha gave to me...?

(The book of riddles costed 63 rupees...)

Now, the same riddle in English...

Special Note: If you succeed in solving this one, well and good; but in case, you don't, just leave a comment, and I will mail the answer to you...

One fine day, I saw my son Saarthak reading a book of riddles, in his bed...

I asked him to give it to me, after he is done, and he said, "Only if you give me it's cost, Papa..."

Saarthak smiled, and said, "It costed me 63 Rupees, and I want you to give me the exact amount in six notes or coins only, and I will not accept a coin or note of Rupee one... And yes, I will not even accept any coin of the value less than a rupee..."

I took my wallet out, counted my money, and then handed over 63 Rupees to Saarthak, the way he wanted...

After that, Saarthak could not refuse to give the book to me, so, I slept with it that night...

Now, can you guys tell me, what six coins or notes did I give to Saarthak...?

(My piggy bank was Saarthak's problem...)

Now, the same riddle in English...

Special Note: If you succeed in solving this one, well and good; but in case, you don't, just leave a comment, and I will mail the answer to you...

Recently, I was cleaning my old almirah and found the piggy bank, I used to play with during my childhood...

My son Saarthak opened it, and found lots of coins of one paisa, five paise, 10 paise, twenty-five paise, and 50 paise...

Suddenly, the idea of testing his mathematical skills struck my mind yet again, so, I told him, "Saarthak, believe me, there are enough coins to answer my question in this piggy bank, and now, if you tell me, how many ways are possible to make change for a rupee with these coins of five denominations, you can get this piggy bank and all the money in it..."

As you all know, Saarthak is also very fond of riddles, so, very soon he was the proud owner of my piggy bank, but now, can you guys give me the answer to my question...?

(Product of product and sum...)

Now, the same riddle in English...

Special Note: If you succeed in solving this one, well and good; but in case, you don't, just leave a comment, and I will mail the answer to you...

Take a whole number, then take the sum of its digits, and then the product of its digits, and then multiply these two figures together to get a new whole number...

For example, let's start with 6712... The sum of its digits is (6+7+1+2) = 16, and the product of its digits is (6*7*1*2) = 84, and when we multiply these two figures (sum and productr) together, we will get 16 x 84 = 1344...

Now, let's start the same process with this new number 1344...

In the first phase, we get (1+3+4+4) * (1*3*4*4) = 576...

And then, when we start the third round with 576, we will get (5+7+6) * (5*7*6) = 3780...

Now, we know without even working this equation out, that the next answer will be zero (0), because, as one digit is zero, the product of the digits will be 0, and hence the answer will also be 0...

Now, can you guys tell me the smallest three such numbers to which when we apply the above mentioned rule repeatedly, we never end up at zero...?

(I am looking for a couple of pairs of numbers...)

Now, the same riddle in English...

Special Note: If you succeed in solving this one, well and good; but in case, you don't, just leave a comment, and I will mail the answer to you...

Tell me the smallest two pairs of positive integers, where...
  • the difference of the squares of both the numbers in the pair is a cube...
  • the difference of the cubes of both the numbers in the pair is a square...
