जौहरी की तिजोरी... (The jeweller's vault...)

एक बहुत बड़े जौहरी ने अपने शानदार शोरूम में एक खास तिजोरी लगवाई...

उसकी इच्छा थी, कि यदि किसी कारणवश वह छुट्टी कर ले, तब भी शोरूम का काम न रुके...

सो, उसने तिजोरी पर कुछ ताले लगवाकर उनकी चाबियां अपने स्टाफ में वितरित करने की योजना बनाई, जिसमें दो वीपी (वाइस प्रेज़िडेंट), और पांच जीएम (जनरल मैनेजर) शामिल हैं...

अब जौहरी चाहता है कि इतने ताले और इतनी चाबियां हों कि...

• वह अकेला ही तिजोरी को खोल सके...
• कोई भी वीपी दूसरे वीपी अथवा किन्हीं भी दो जीएम के साथ ही तिजोरी को खोल सके...
• कोई भी चार जीएम मिलकर ही तिजोरी को खोल सकें...

अब आप लोग बताइए, कम से कम कितने तालों और कितनी चाबियों की ज़रूरत होगी, और चाबियों का बंटवारा कैसे किया जाए, ताकि जौहरी की शर्तें पूरी हों...

So, he wanted a few locks to be put on the vault, and the keys to be distributed to his management, which has two Vice Presidents, and five General Managers...

The owner wants several locks on the vault and several keys so that:

• He can open the door alone...
• A VP can only open it together with the other VP, or with any two GMs...
• Any four GMs can open it...

How many locks are needed and how should the keys be distributed...?
