स्टॉल चलाने के लिए सार्थक और निष्ठा ने दो तरह की चॉकलेट के कुल 40 पैकेट खरीदे, जिनमें से 'ई' टाइप (महंगी) चॉकलेट की लागत थी, 150 रुपये प्रति पैकेट, तथा 'सी' टाइप (सस्ती) चॉकलेट की लागत थी, 90 रुपये प्रति पैकेट...

उन्होंने सारी चॉकलेट मिला दीं, और नए सिरे से 40 पैकेट बनाकर 180 रुपये प्रति पैकेट की दर से बेच दिए...

जब सारी चॉकलेट बिक गईं, उन्हें कुल 33.33 प्रतिशत का लाभ (मुनाफा) हुआ...

To run the stall, they bought a total of 40 packets of two types of chocolates - 'E' (expensive) type chocolates costed them Rupees 150 per packet, and the 'C' (cheap) type chocolates Rupees 90 par packet...

They mixed all the chocolates, and made 40 packets again, and sold them at Rupees 180 per packet...

And when all the chocolate packets got sold, they made a profit of 33.33 per cent...

Can you guys tell me, how many packets of each type they had bought initially...?

'हनोई की मीनार' या 'ब्रह्मा की मीनार' एक गणितीय खेल या पहेली है, जिसे 'टॉवर ऑफ हनोई' (Tower of Hanoi), 'टॉवर ऑफ ब्रह्मा' (Tower of Brahma) या 'ल्यूकस टॉवर' (Lucas' Tower) भी कहा जाता है... इंटरनेट पर इस पहेली या खेल के बारे में अंग्रेज़ी में बहुत-सी जानकारी उपलब्ध है, लेकिन हिन्दी में कहीं भी विस्तार से कुछ नहीं मिला, सो, मैंने सोचा, क्यों न आपने पाठकों के लिए इस बेहद रोचक और मज़ेदार खेल के बारे में एक पोस्ट डाल दी जाए... वैसे, इंटरनेट पर इसे 'हनोई का टॉवर (Tower of Hanoi), 'ब्रह्मा का टॉवर' (Tower of Brahma) या 'लुकास टॉवर' (Lucas' Tower) के नाम से भी खोजा सकता है...

'ब्रह्मा की मीनार' (Tower of Brahma) को तीन सलाखों और अलग-अलग आकार की कुछ चपटी गोटियों (कैरम बोर्ड जैसी गोटियों) से खेला जाता है, जिन्हें सलाखों में पिरोया जा सके... पहेली की शुरुआत किसी भी एक सलाख पर सभी गोटियों को एक-दूसरे के ऊपर बढ़ते क्रम में लगाकर की जाती है (यानि सबसे छोटी गोटी सबसे ऊपर), ताकि शंकु (Cone) की आकृति मिल सके... पहेली का उद्देश्य है, सभी गोटियों को उसी आकार में अंतिम सलाख तक ले जाना, जिसके लिए कुछ शर्तों का पालन करना ज़रूरी है...

• एक बार में सिर्फ एक गोटी को स्थानांतरित किया जा सकता है...
• हर चाल में किसी भी सलाख से सबसे ऊपर मौजूद सिर्फ एक गोटी को हिलाया जा सकता है, और उसे किसी भी अन्य सलाख पर सबसे ऊपर ही रखा जा सकता है...
• किसी भी समय किसी भी गोटी को खुद से छोटे आकार की गोटी के ऊपर नहीं रखा जा सकता...

यदि आप पहेली को तीन गोटियों के साथ शुरू करते हैं, तो जीतने के लिए पहेली को सिर्फ सात चालों में खत्म करना होगा... इसी तरह यदि गोटियों की संख्या चार है, तो जीतने के लिए अधिकतम चालों की संख्या 15 होगी... यानि हर बार अधिकतम चालों की संख्या '(2 की घात n) - 1' ही रहेगी, जहां n का अर्थ गोटियों की संख्या है... 

वैसे, सलाखों और अलग-अलग आकार की गोटियां जुटाने का तामझाम काफी मुश्किल साबित हो सकता है, सो, आप लोगों की जानकारी के लिए बता देना चाहूंगा कि मैंने अलग-अलग आकार के चार ढक्कनों (बोतलों के ढक्कन) से यह खेल खुद भी खेला, और अपने बच्चों को भी सिखाया... अब तो मेरे दोनों बच्चे - सार्थक और निष्ठा - भी 15 चालों में चार ढक्कनों से बनी 'ब्रह्मा की मीनार' (Tower of Brahma) को हल कर लेते हैं... और हां, इसमें सलाखों की भी ज़रूरत नहीं पड़ी... सो, इसी तरह की मिलती-जुलती चीज़ों से आप भी इसे तैयार कर सकते हैं, और खेल सकते हैं... यकीन मानिए, बहुत आनंद आएगा...

10 जनवरी का अपडेट : कल रात को थर्मोकोल के टुकड़ों से काट-काटकर बच्चों को 'हनोई का टॉवर' बनाकर दिया, जिसमें उनकी पेंसिलों ने सलाखों का काम किया... दोनों कल रात से बहुत खुश हैं... और आज सुबह पांच गोटियों वाले 'हनोई के टॉवर' को 31 चालों में पूरा करने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं... देखिए कल रात की तस्वीर...

सार्थक और निष्ठा ने बांटे आम... (Saarthak & Nishtha shared mangoes...)

सार्थक और निष्ठा ने एक थैली में भरे आम आपस में बांटे...

कुछ देर बाद निष्ठा ने कहा, "भैया, यह अच्छा नहीं किया आपने... आपके पास मेरी तुलना में तिगुने आम हैं..."

सार्थक ने मुस्कुराकर जवाब दिया, "ठीक है, बहना... मैं तुझे तेरी उम्र के हर साल के लिए एक आम दूंगा..."

निष्ठा ने आम लेकर तुरंत कहा, "नहीं, नहीं... अब भी नहीं चलेगा... आपके पास अब भी मेरी तुलना में दोगुने आम हैं..."

सार्थक ने फिर मुस्कुराकर जवाब दिया, "मेरी प्यारी बहना... यही ठीक है, क्योंकि मैं तेरी तुलना में दोगुना बड़ा हूं..."
इसके बाद सार्थक पानी पीने के लिए रसोई की तरफ गया, तो पीछे से निष्ठा ने सार्थक की ढेरी में से सार्थक की उम्र जितने आम उठाकर अपनी ढेरी में रख लिए...

अब आप लोग बताइए, अंत में किसके पास ज़्यादा आम हैं - सार्थक या निष्ठा...?

Saarthak and Nishtha divided a bag of Mangoes between them...

Nishtha said, "It's not fair, Bhaiya... You have three times as many Mangoes as I have..."

Saarthak smiled, and said, "OK, kid sis, I will give you one Mango for each year of your age..."

After taking mangoes, Nishtha immediately replied, "Still not fair, Bhai... You still have twice as many Mangoes as I have..."

"My dear lil sis, that's fair enough as I am twice older than you...", replied Saarthak smiling...
Then Saarthak went to the Kitchen to drink some water, and as soon as he left, Nishtha took Mangoes from Saarthak's pile equal to Saarthak's age...

Now, you guys tell me, who have more Mangoes now - Saarthak or Nishtha...?
