कितने नींबू तोड़े...? (How many lemons...?)

एक व्यक्ति सात दरवाज़ों वाले एक बगीचे में पहुंचा, जहां चौकीदार ने उसे नींबू तोड़ने के खिलाफ चेतावनी दी...

उसे ज़रूरत थी, सो, उसने चौकीदार को रिश्वत की पेशकश की, जिस पर चौकीदार ने आधे नींबू लेने की बात कही...

उस व्यक्ति ने सौदा करते हुए कहा, "ठीक है भाई... आधे नींबू तुम्हें दूंगा, लेकिन एक नींबू वापस ले लूंगा... मंज़ूर है...?"

...और चौकीदार मान गया...

एक के बाद एक बाकी छह दरवाज़ों पर भी उसे चौकीदार मिले, और उसने सभी से यही सौदा किया...

अब वह व्यक्ति बगीचे में गया, अपनी ज़रूरत के हिसाब से नींबू तोड़े, और वापसी का सफर शुरू कर दिया...

सातवें दरवाज़े पर (वापसी में यही सबसे पहले आएगा) चौकीदार ने उससे आधे नींबू ले लिए, और उसे एक नींबू लौटा दिया...

छठे दरवाज़े पर भी चौकीदार ने उसके हाथ में बचे नींबुओं में से आधे लेकर एक नींबू लौटा दिया...

इसी तरह सभी सातों दरवाज़े पार करने के बाद जब वह व्यक्ति बाहर पहुंचा, तो उसके हाथ में केवल दो नींबू बचे थे...

अब आप लोग मुझे बताइए, उस व्यक्ति ने कुल कितने नींबू तोड़े थे...?

A man visited a garden of lemons, which had seven gates...

On the first gate, the guard stopped him and warned him for not plucking any lemons.
The man needed the fruit desperately, and tried to bribe the guard, offering whatever he asks for...

The guard then asked for half the lemons, but the man said, "OK... I will give you half the lemons, but will take one lemon back... Is that ok with you...?"

The guard agreed...

On the second gate, the same happened; and the same deal was okayed...

After that, the man finalised the same deal with all the seven guards, and reached the garden, plucked as many lemons as he needed; and then starting walking back...

On the seventh gate (this obviously will come first on way back), he gave half the lemons to the guard, and took one back...

From the remaining, he gave half to the sixth guard, and took one back...
Similarly, when he came out of the garden, he had two lemons in his hands...

Now, you guys tell me, how many lemons did he pluck...?
