एक पारिवारिक दावत के दौरान मेरे भाई-बहनों के ज़िद करने पर मैंने खाने की मेज़ पर चार कटोरियां उलटकर रख दीं...

उसके बाद चार छोटे-छोटे कागज़ के टुकड़ों पर कुछ लिखा, और एक-एक कागज़ प्रत्येक कटोरी पर रख दिया...

कागज़ के टुकड़ों पर लिखा था, "दो या तीन", "एक या चार", "तीन या एक", "एक या दो"...

इसके बाद मैंने अपने भाई-बहनों से कहा, "मैंने हर कटोरी के नीचे टॉफियां रख दी हैं, और प्रत्येक कटोरी के नीचे बराबर संख्या में टॉफियां हैं... जो चार पर्चियां कटोरियों पर रखी हैं, उनमें से सिर्फ एक पर ही सच लिखा है, सो, अब क्या आप लोग मुझे बता सकते हैं, प्रत्येक कटोरी के नीचे कितनी टॉफियां हैं...?"
